My first review for the fine folks at Pajiba is now up!

You can read (and comment on) it here should you so wish.

Good job! So how did you land that gig? A one-time guest shot, a sell-your-soul-and-get-a-green-card work agreement, or did Rowles descend from on high and say "we want YOU!" as our token Brit chick to review crappy foreign shows? I know I've said it before, but I really really really love your sense of snark, and your writing's quite good too.

Way to go, AtO! I'm with lordhelmet on wondering about the circumstances. I also suspect I speak for many Pajibans in expressing a small measure of jealousy that you managed to get a headlining gig. Or maybe I'm just a shallow, selfish bastard. Either way, great job. It really was a sterling, Pajiba-worthy review.

Oh, and sorry to be the one to point out the typo...

lordhelmet: Thanks :) I will indeed be reviewing more things for Pajiba, movies, TV, books - all things British.

Che: Thanks also. And typo? What typo? There really were bears, they had guns and were smoking french cigarettes. It was a terrifying sight! You didn't see that show?

Guess not, so I had no way of realizing my error. It all makes perfect sense now. I remember reading somewhere that anything smoking a French cigarette is subject to a shoot-to-kill order per one of those Hague Conventions you guys are so fond of over there.

I guess the lesson for a budding essayist is that a little exposition can go a long way toward averting misunderstanding, no?

I'm sure you had no clue that August 27th was my birthday, but I'm totally taking this as some kind of inadvertent birthday present. Yay!
